Ruturaj Gaikwad’s poor performance in IPL 2026 continues with another low score in Chepauk
Chennai Super Kings is going through its toughest phase in the IPL. Opening with Sanju Samson, their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has failed to show promise at the top. He has been extensively criticized for his poor batting form as well as cluelessness in captaincy.
Gaikwad, who scored only 56 runs at an average of 14 and a dreadful score of 102 in the first four matches, was determined to make a comeback, but luck was not on his side. In the second over of the powerplay, after being asked to bat first, Gaikwad looked to sweep Anukul Roy to the deep mid-wicket boundary.
The ball did not reach the desired height and hence did not reach the floor. He was caught by Rovman Powell, one of the safest pairs of KKR XI. Ruturaj Gaikwad was out on the score of 7.
