Charli XCX is all set on her next music project because she admits it might upset some people.
The 33-year-old singer’s eighth studio album is going to shake up her musical style, she recently revealed in a chat with British Vogue for its new cover story.
“I think the dance floor is over, so now we’re making rock music,” Charlie shared.
In form of brat The singer is currently working on her new album with collaborators AG Cook and Finn Keane, saying, “Being out in the world at night, experiencing things when I’m writing, really aids my process.”
However, Charlie has no plans to make a Brat sequel.
He explained, “If I had made another album that felt more dance-oriented, it would have felt really hard, really sad.”
Charlie further stated, and as for his outlook on rock music, “My perspective on it is to bend the possibilities of what could be.”
grammy-The winning artist also shared that his new music will include more rock elements with less auto-tune and more guitar integration.
“We were making our own version of analog, which is very silly and ridiculous,” he said. “But putting it through our lens, and making sure nothing felt too masculine, was important.”
What else inspired him to take this approach, Charlie said, is that the success of Bratt has led him to “crave something opposite”.
