Just last week, YouTube Premium increased to $15.99 per month. So the timing on this Google One YouTube Premium discount is either very convenient or very calculated. Google is offering 50% off YouTube Premium for 12 months to eligible Google One Premium customers. That brings it down to about $8 per month for the entire year, which is a solid deal on a service that is becoming increasingly expensive.
The problem is that not everyone is qualified. You’ll need to get Google One’s 2TB plan for $9.99 per month or more. All cheaper tiers, including the 100GB, 200GB, and Google AI Plus plans, are excluded. You must live in one of six supported countries: Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, or the United States. This offer will last till April 29, so there is not much time left. Another problem: If you already subscribe to YouTube Premium, you’ll have to first cancel your current subscription and then re-subscribe through the Google One website to redeem the deal.
Is it worth it?
Do the math and it makes sense to the right person. Twelve months of YouTube Premium at half price saves approximately $96. If you’re already paying $9.99 per month for Google One’s 2TB plan, adding the discounted YouTube Premium on top is a pretty neat bundle, especially compared to paying full price separately.
For anyone on the fence about YouTube Premium, it’s a better entry point than the standard rate. And if Google AI Ultra at $249.99 per month seems like overkill for only including YouTube Premium, this deal splits the difference. Those who want something lighter and cheaper can also consider YouTube Premium Lite at $8.99 per month, although Lite turns off background play and offline downloads for non-music content.
The April 29 deadline is firm, so if you’re eligible, here’s worth checking out one.google.com Before the window closes.
