Iran scoffed at US President Donald Trump’s claims of a breakthrough in ongoing talks, dismissing it as “building castles in the air”.Iran’s state media IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) shared a video of Trump saying, “I think we are having a very successful conversation right now.” The US President can be heard further saying, “If that happens, it will be announced soon, and that will give us free oil, the Strait of Hormuz will be free, everything will be good.” Mocking the comments, the media channel shared a poetic message saying, “Building castles in the air! Or in Persian we have a similar saying: ‘The camel dreams of cottonseed; sometimes it swallows it, sometimes it eats it grain by grain!'”This saying basically refers to ‘unrealistic or far-fetched expectations’.This comes as Iran and the US remain under a fragile ceasefire even as peace talks held in Pakistan have failed. In the latest claims, Trump has said Iran is ready to hand over its uranium, a major point of conflict. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, “We are very close to making a deal with Iran.”Referring to uranium stockpiles, Trump said, “They have agreed to give us the nuclear dust back,” a term he uses for enriched uranium that the US says can be used to make nuclear weapons.
