Key Insights and Record Analysis
Kumar Sangakkara has taken the most catches as a wicketkeeper in an innings of IPL. He took five catches for Deccan Chargers against RCB in 2011.
Morne van Wyk was the first wicketkeeper to take four catches in an IPL innings, doing so for KKR against RCB in 2009.
MS Dhoni is the only wicketkeeper to take three or more catches in 10 innings in the IPL. He also tops the overall catches record as a wicketkeeper in IPL.
Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik have taken three or more catches against the same opponent. Dhoni did this against Punjab Kings, while Karthik did this against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Sanju Samson is the youngest wicketkeeper to take three or more catches in an IPL innings. He was 18 years and 154 days old when he took three catches for RR In the 2013 game against Punjab.
