(Worthy News) – The US State Department confirmed that Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee is returning to Washington on Thursday to participate in a second round of ambassadorial-level talks between Israel and Lebanon.
The talks, brokered by the United States, will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and will include prominent diplomatic figures from both countries. Israel will be represented by Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, while Lebanon will be represented by Ambassador Nada Hamadeh.
The US delegation will also include Lebanese Ambassador Michel Issa and senior State Department official Mike Needham.
According to a State Department spokesperson, Huckabee’s visit will also include regular consultations with department leadership and interagency partners, focusing on broader regional issues.
The talks follow a preliminary round held last week, as Washington continues efforts to ease tensions and promote dialogue between Jerusalem and Beirut amid regional uncertainty.
