Kate Middleton and Prince William are facing a bittersweet moment in life as their youngest child, Prince Louis, grows up.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, who are set to celebrate their youngest child’s eighth birthday, are experiencing a change in sadness.
Speaking about the couple’s feelings, royal expert Jenny Bond revealed: “A twinge of sadness? Yes, it’s inevitable. As your ‘baby’ grows up and takes off all his clothes, makes his own wishes and shows his own independence, most parents get a little cynical about the end of an era: the family is growing up. The baby stage is gone forever.”
“It became clear over Easter when we saw the whole family at Windsor that George wasn’t the only one who was getting taller,” Jenny said. “That bubbly little boy in shorts was now a very well-mannered young Prince Louis in a suit and tie.
“There were no naughty antics, no sticking out your tongue at the camera – in fact Louis barely looked in the direction of the crowd. I don’t think his parents would have deliberately tamed his cheeky side, but Louis is probably more aware now that he’s in a public parade. And that can be embarrassing at his age,” she adds.
“So it was left to Charlotte to give a friendly little wave in the direction of the crowd and the cameras,” the expert says.
