Nail trends come and go, but as someone who constantly keeps a close eye on the latest styles, I would argue that a sense of balance always remains. Sure, new looks are always emerging, but some looks come back again for round two (or three).
There are the classics like French manis and soap nails and then there are others like metallics and gummy 3D finishes that really shake things up. “3D sticky nails have been trying to emerge for the last few years, but I think it’s really here to stay,” Celebrity Nail Artist Julie Kandalek Earlier it was told who wears what. She also listed sheer, jelly neon shades as worth checking out.
The best part? No matter the trend, you can almost always pull them off on all nail lengths (short nails included!). If you need proof, just check out these 13 ideas below.

1. Classic Floral
Classic floral designs like this last from spring to mid-summer, so rest assured there’s plenty of time to request a few different versions of this trend.
2. Maximalist chic
Maximalism is one of the big trends I’m seeing all over Instagram and TikTok, so it was a must-have on our list.
3. Inverted French
The reverse French is already on the rise, so you can expect it to be around all summer long. Stick to one color or try multiple colors if you’re feeling adventurous.
4. Magnified plaid
As Candelec mentioned, plaid will continue to make an appearance as the weather warms up. If you don’t want the obvious plaid look, consider this magnified version that looks more abstract.
5. Micro metallic
Metals have been strong all year, but you can expect it to ease a bit over the next few months. Instead of this being the main focus, try adding small hints of it on different nails.
6. Bold stripes
We’ve already chatted with nail tech about the rise of striped manes, which means it’s pretty much certain they’ll be sticking around for a while. Does design take time? Yes, but the end result is totally worth it.
7. Cheetah
Go into any clothing store and you’ll see cheetah print, everywhere. It seems like it’s the perfect dose of early 2000s nostalgia, so why not have a mani to match it.
8. Soap Nails
Everyone is obsessing over soap nails, and understandably so. This is so minimalist Manicures are for those who want a clean, sophisticated finish without adding any designs.
9. Texture
Gelly designs always rise during the summer when people want great manicures that really stand out. I’m personally crazy about these gorgeous pink flowers.
10. Micro-French
The micro-French was popular last summer, and it’s likely to become a common request again for those who want a textbook French manicure with a pop of color.
11. Chrome
These attractive nails look best in light. Consider wearing these to your next concert or outdoor concert. You will not be disappointed.
12. Contrasting colors
Contrasting colors never fail to shine. These hot orange and blue nails are a great example.
13. Subtle Design
I’m a big fan of subtle designs so you can imagine my excitement when I saw nails like this making waves on social media. Be it floral designs or anything else, you can’t go wrong with these.
