Rajasthan Royals leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi took social media by storm after his notebook celebration in IPL 2026.
During RR’s match against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow, Bishnoi dismissed LSG’s Himmat Singh while his team defended a low score on a difficult pitch.
In the 15th over of LSG’s innings, Bishnoi took one through the defense of Himmat Singh and uprooted the stumps, leaving LSG at a troubled score of 94/5. From there the chase of 160 never got back on track.
fast bowlers shine on both sides
In the first innings, Lucknow’s pace bowlers – Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan and Prince Yadav – used seam movement to trouble RR’s batsmen.
Rajasthan’s explosive openers were stopped and the middle order was tied down. Shami, Khan and Yadav took two wickets each to restrict RR to 159. This total would not have been possible if Ravindra Jadeja had not scored 20 runs in the last over.
LSG had a very poor start and Ayush Badoni was run out in the very first over. After this, Joffra Archer and Nandre Berger took one wicket each in the powerplay.
Ravi Bishnoi and Jadeja showed a tough stance in the middle
Jadeja and Bishnoi then ensured that LSG never recovered from their slow start. All efforts to stop the fall of Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran were in vain.
Pooran was unusually quiet due to his poor form, while Mitchell Marsh brought up his half-century but could not hold on till the end. Jadeja dismissed Pooran and Ravi Bishnoi pulled out the notebook after breaching Himmat Singh’s defence.

Digvesh Rathi and ‘Notebook’
Although he was not the first to do so, LSG’s Digvesh Rathi gained notoriety for leading the ‘notebook’ celebration in last year’s IPL.
After dismissing a batsman, Rathi would pretend to put a few ticks on an imaginary notebook on his palm. Even do it once to the batsman’s face.
Repeatedly celebrating in this manner meant that Rathi was slapped with multiple fines and ultimately a one-match ban in IPL 2025. Rathi eventually calmed down, but the scenes from his notebook remained in the minds of the batsmen.
Ravi Bishnoi took advantage of that opportunity when he celebrated against Rathi’s team itself.

Berger, Archer and Brijesh Sharma close it out for RR
All hope was finally lost after Nandre Berger dismissed LSG’s last recognized batsman in Mitchell Marsh.
After this, Joffra Archer and Brijesh Sharma led the team to a spectacular victory by 40 runs. The win lifted Rajasthan Royals to second place on the points table with 10 points, just one point behind table-toppers Punjab Kings and snapped a two-match losing streak.
On the other hand, LSG are in ninth place with just 2 wins from 7 matches. The loss to RR in Lucknow was their fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament.
