Nothing last month launched the Phone (4A) and Phone (4A) Pro running the latest Nothing OS 4.1 on top of Android 16. Now the company is starting to roll out Nothing OS 4.1 on the Nothing Phone (3), which runs Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16.
Although it doesn’t bring any changes to the Android version, it does include the Essential Voice functionality that was announced earlier today. There’s also a new lock screen clock, and live updates now work across the entire device, including the lock screen, notification panel, and glyph interface.
The Essential Notifications UI is cleaner and includes new details, and the update includes the April 2026 security patch. You also get improved audio call quality when connected to a Nothing Audio device, as well as enhanced video call stability for a seamless experience with third-party apps.
The Nothing OS 4.1 update will also reach the Phone (3A) and (3A) Pro, Phone (2A) series, Phone (2), CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro later this month. The phone (3a) Lite will be available in early May.
