King Charles III will meet with New York City’s popular socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani during his visit to the US next week.
The visit will be His Majesty’s first visit as monarch of the United Kingdom.
The British royal family is expected to arrive in the United States on Monday, where President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will host a private tea for the king and Queen Camilla.

according to hill, King Charles is then expected to meet Mamdani for a wreath-laying ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum on Wednesday, but there is no report on whether the pair will meet in person.
Mamdani’s spokesman Joe Calvello said, “He was invited to join a number of New York elected officials in laying a wreath with members of the British royal family at the 9/11 memorial next week.”
King Charles’ visit to the US marks the first time a British monarch has visited the States since the late Queen Elizabeth II visited the US in 2007.
The royal visit, which is expected to end on Thursday, is aimed at celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
The 250th anniversary celebrates the American Declaration of Independence from British rule, when the then-13 American colonies decided to secede from King George III, Charles’s five-times great-grandfather.
