If you have dry lips, you probably know how difficult they can be to manage. Personally, I know that no matter the season, if I don’t stay on top of lip care, it’s only a matter of time before peeling and painful chapped lips start to show up. I’ve tried everything from hydrating glosses to drugstore lip balms and expensive serums, but the relief I get is usually short-lived. Sure, my lips may remain relatively soft throughout the day, but most times, I don’t really see any long-term improvement despite consistent use.
Naturally, when it comes to trying new lip products that promise a plump pout, this has made me a little skeptical. But after all, maintaining soft lips is one of my primary beauty concerns, so I’ll never miss an opportunity to try a new product. I have a long list of formulas that I’ve tried and want to try, and Viral Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is on that list.
With people talking left and right about how incredible their results were, I became curious and decided to test it out myself over the course of a month. Is it really worth the hype? Keep reading my full review to find out.

About Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Lip Sleeping Mask is a Korean beauty overnight treatment designed to nourish the lips, keeping them soft and hydrated. It’s a leave-on formula that doesn’t have to be removed in the morning, and the $24 formula includes key ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, murumuru seed butter, and vitamin C.
When mixed together, you get a creamy texture designed to protect against external aggressors and improve smoothness for up to eight hours. It comes in seven different scents with an additional seven limited edition options currently available. Although these lip masks come in a variety of colors, they are clear and can be applied with your fingers or the spatula that comes in the packaging.
How I used Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
I spent the first two weeks of the testing process following the mask use guidelines. All you need to do is apply adequate amount of oil on your lips in the evening and leave it overnight. If you have any excess product in the morning, you can wipe it off as needed.
When I started seeing results, I decided to change things up a bit for the remaining two weeks and use it throughout the day or really anytime I found myself biting my lips a lot (a habit of mine when I’m focused on something). When I was using the product strictly overnight, I used the applicator that came with the mask and I never felt like I needed to wipe off any excess product, which I liked to keep things mess-free.

The overnight results of this lip mask are truly undeniable. Whenever I apply lip balm before bed, my lips feel slightly softer in the morning, but it never feels like the hydration is actually lasting. This formula made a remarkable difference. Not only were my lips softer, but over time, I didn’t even feel like I needed to apply another layer of product or another balm first thing in the morning to maintain that softness. I also noticed less cracks and flaking after a few days.
Is Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Worth It?
I am someone who is in favor of purchasing alternatives to slightly more expensive drugstore products. However, I think this lip mask is really worth the money, especially for those who have been struggling with dry lips for a long time. I know I’m not the only person who feels like no matter what they try, nothing is working or making a long-term difference, but this formula really does deliver results. I tried the berry scent, but I can also appreciate that in addition to some limited edition options, there are seven other scents to choose from.
