Palestinians in the West Bank and central Gaza voted in municipal elections on Saturday, the first since the Gaza war began, amid low turnout and a narrow list of contenders.According to the Ramallah-based Central Election Commission, about 1.5 million people in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, as well as 70,000 in Gaza’s Deir al-Balah area, had registered to vote. By 5 p.m., turnout in the West Bank reached 40.62%; But participation in Deir al-Balah was just 21.2%.
