A high-voltage IPL 2026 match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur witnessed pure drama and big hitting, and a young talent completely stole the show on April 26. Even though Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended with a defeat, their teenage star Vaibhav Suryavanshi won the praise of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi looked fearless and his incredible hitting stunned everyone including Pat Cummins. The young opening batsman from Rajasthan Royals not only dominated the world-class bowlers but also made a strong impression with his power-hitting and confidence on such a big stage.
Fearless Vaibhav Suryavanshi destroys SRH attack in Jaipur
The 15-year-old batting sensation from Bihar played with remarkable maturity and raw power at the same time. Vaibhav started his innings in the most aggressive manner as he ravaged the SRH bowling attack in Jaipur by playing naturally aggressive cricket.

He even hit a six on the very first ball of Cummins. Earlier in the season too, the left-handed batsman had shown the same fearless approach against top bowlers like Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah and RCB’s Josh Hazlewood, proving that reputation does not affect his game.
Suryavanshi completed his half-century in just 15 balls and continuing his explosive innings, he completed his century in just 36 balls. This was his second IPL century and the third fastest century in IPL history. His record innings of 103 runs off just 37 balls with the help of five fours and 12 sixes helped RR post 228/6 on the board. Later, SRH chased the target with 3 balls and 5 wickets remaining.

After the match, SRH captain Pat Cummins could not hide his admiration as he was truly amazed by the young batsman’s fearless style. The Australian fast bowler said that the way Suryavanshi hits the ball while facing him, the bowlers need to be perfect on every ball.
Cummins, who played his first game of this season on Saturday, also admitted that the RRR opener has started his IPL journey very strongly, and his fearless style and rare attacking mindset makes him a special talent to watch, especially at such a young age.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s power show rewrote the IPL record books
Well, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s century in 36 balls against SRH is now the third fastest century in IPL history. This is just behind Chris Gayle’s century in 30 balls in 2013 and his century in 35 balls against Gujarat Titans last season.
With this century, he also became the first batsman in IPL history to score multiple centuries in less than 40 balls. Vaibhav now has three T20 centuries to his name which have come within 40 balls. In this match, Vaibhav hit 12 sixes in Jaipur, which is now the most by any Indian batsman in IPL history.
The previous record was 11, achieved last year by Murali Vijay and Suryavanshi himself. In IPL history, more than 12 sixes have been hit in only three innings.
