Kate Hudson has revealed that Los Angeles Lakers co-owner Jenny Buss has always been “very protective” of her.
The 64-year-old sports executive served as the real-life inspiration for Kate’s character running pointsports-comedy TV series, and the actress has revealed that they have developed a strong friendship over the years.
Kate, who plays the president of Los Angeles Waves in the show, told People Magazine, “She was always someone who was very protective of me.”
She added, “He kind of put his arm around me and made sure I stayed out of trouble. But then to come back to this time in our lives and have this experience together has been really wonderful and very comforting, I guess that’s the word.”
kate is acting running point with Brenda Song, and the actress recently admitted to being at a “crossroads” before joining the show.
The 38-year-old star plays Chief of Staff Ali Lee in the Netflix series, which focuses on a reformed party girl who runs a professional basketball team, and Brenda admitted the show changed her career.
talking to ExcessiveShe explained, “I’ve always said I’ve worked my whole life for this moment to work on a project where I love the subject matter so much, I’m such a big Lakers fan.”
Brenda also admitted that the role came at the perfect time in her life and that she was excited to work with show co-creator Mindy Kaling and Kate on the project.
“I was really at a crossroads, like, ‘I just had two kids,'” she said. Just feeling like, ‘Where do I fit in this industry?’ And talking with Mindy and working with Kate, these two women inspire me on a personal level beyond this craziness.
“It’s been a wonderful experience, and I hope we continue it,” Brenda Song said of how running point Had a positive impact on his life.
