Prince William is said to believe welcoming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back into the royal family could mark “the beginning of the end”.
The Prince of Wales has been left disappointed following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent tour to Australia, a palace insider revealed.
What angered them further were Harry’s comments that he never wanted to be a working royal, with the insider claiming there are concerns that his return could damage the stability of the monarchy.
While King Charles is more open to improving relations with Harry and Meghan, William is said to be strongly opposed to the idea.
The insider explained, “Harry openly said he didn’t want to be a royal, which angered William. Some members of the establishment are pushing to bring the Sussexes back, and that upsets William.” Heat Magazine.
He said the future king “doesn’t feel like he’s being given any authority, as his father gets closer to signing off on this disaster.
“From William’s perspective, this would mark the beginning of the end. Welcoming the Sussexes back into the fold, so they can shamelessly exploit their title, is appalling for him.
“He says Meghan will eventually turn on him – and if Charles gives in, it could backfire.”
During his visit to the InterAge Summit, Harry made a bombshell statement claiming he never wanted any role in the royal family.
He admitted, “After my mother died, I thought, ‘I don’t want this job. I don’t want this role.’ ‘I was very against it, and I stuck my head in the sand for years and years.’
