What you need to know
- Samsung has announced “Trips” for its Wallet app, a new feature that brings together a timeline that organizes your summer adventures in one place.

- Recent updates to the Wallet app include split in-store payments and a “digital home key.”
As we get closer to summer, Samsung is now updating its digital wallet with a feature that may help with your plans.
Samsung shared a press release It has detailed a new feature called “Trips” coming to its Wallet app on Galaxy phones. As a teaser, Woncheol Chae, EVP of Mobile Experience (MX) business at Samsung and head of the digital wallet team, said, “Travel plans are often scattered across confirmations, apps, and messages, and this creates friction at the exact moments when people need clarity.” Samsung Wallet’s Trips feature is designed to solve this “friction” through clarity and organization of your plans.
The post says that users will get a trip timeline that shows everything related to their travel plans in one view. “Eligible” items added to Samsung Wallet will be added to your Trip Timeline, as long as it’s relevant to the adventure ahead. The company says these items are organized by time and location, no matter where the information is coming from.

summer time
In addition to planning fun in the sun, Samsung Wallet has launched a feature Which helps users in their smart home. The company partnered with Alliro earlier this year, introducing a “digital home key” for Galaxy users. With this, users can use their phone as a key to unlock their home smart lock. Aliero and Samsung’s partnership gives you the option of using UWB (ultra-wideband) or NFC.
Compatible locks set up through Samsung SmartThings can be added to the Digital Home Key during onboarding. If you’re preparing for the summer abroad (or just in another city), Samsung Wallet supports split payments in stores for an installment plan that works for you.
Android Central’s Tech
Travel can be both exciting and overwhelming. If you’re moving to a new city, there’s a lot on your list that you want to do, and sometimes we can get a little procrastinated. Samsung’s Trips seems like a reasonable travel advisor to me. One that can keep me on schedule, no matter how much fun I’m having. It also seems to save time. I no longer have to go through my emails to make sure I have everything ready like times and tickets. It’s all listed in one convenient place, and that’s half the battle.
