Stanley Tucci has nothing but praise for his Devil Wears Prada co-star Meryl Streep.
The 56-year-old actor, who has worked with Meryl in three films, revealed in a recent conversation on the Tonight With Jimmy Fallon show whether he is looking forward to working with Meryl in the future.
In a clip posted on the show’s Instagram page, when Jimmy asked Tucci, “This is your third movie with Meryl Streep,” Stanley responded, “Yes, it is.”
Jimmy joked, “Yeah, that’s enough.”
Stanley explained that he could no longer work with her because he joked, “You can only carry someone on your shoulders for so long.”
Jimmy, who laughed out loud after Stanley’s answer, said, “That’s right, and Merrill has taken you a long way.”
“Yes, that’s true,” Stanley agreed.
Jimmy then asked, “Where did you first meet? Do you remember meeting?”
Stanley recalled, “I don’t know if we met through mutual friends. I think Aidan Quinn and Liam Neeson and his late wife Natasha.”
She added, “And then we just became friends and then we worked on The Devil Wears Prada and then he and Nora asked me to do ‘Julie & Julia.’
“Yeah, we’ve always been friends,” Stanley commented.
Jimmy then recalled, “I saw somewhere you said that she…it’s challenging or not fun to play pretend with her. Maybe it’s not fair.”
Stanley said, “No, she’s great!
Jimmy exclaimed, “She’s great! It’s not fair to play charades with Meryl Streep.”
Then he curiously asked, “Is it because of his acting or because of guessing?”
”Everything!” Tucci commented, “He’s absolutely brilliant! He’s got that brain… he’s brilliant.”
