Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses look more normal than you might expect

The fame of smart glasses is that they look like you have a gadget strapped to your face. The first leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy Glasses show that Samsung did everything possible to avoid this. These look like glasses.

Worked together with OnLeaks Android Headlines Publishing what appears to be renderings based on actual test units. The design is clean. The temples are notably thinner than the Meta Ray-Bans. Other than a dual-camera setup near each lens corner and the Samsung logo on the arm, you’ll be hard-pressed to pick these out from the lineup of regular frames. Internally, Samsung calls this model “Jinju”, which translates to “pearl” in Korean.

No demonstration here. Samsung opted for a camera-and-audio-first approach, relying on Gemini voice commands via Android XR for the main interaction loop. The leaked specs put a Snapdragon AR1 chip inside, a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera, a 155mAh battery, directional speakers with bone-conduction technology, and photochromic transition lenses that darken on the outside. The whole thing weighs about 50 grams. The price according to the leak is between $379 and $499.

What is Samsung really building here

The story of the Samsung Galaxy Glasses has been developing for several months, but this is the first time that the design has been revealed. And the no-display option tells you a lot about who Samsung is targeting. This is not a gadget for developers or early adopters willing to tolerate a heads-up display. This is the wearable for people who want a Gemini in their ear and a camera on their face without looking like a tech demo.

A second model, codenamed “Hain”, is in the works for 2027 with a micro-LED display and an estimated price of $600 to $900. This is the version for those who want real AR overlays. Jinju just wants to be something you’ll actually wear to the grocery store.

Samsung will likely tease these at Galaxy Unpacked in July, although the full launch will likely take place later this year. If you want more context on the platforms powering them, it’s worth understanding Android XR first. Google I/O Unpacked in May may also bring some answers before it arrives.
