Apple is rumored to be coming out with a special 20th anniversary iPhone next year, but according to a new report, it won’t be a standalone new model, but an entirely new design for the iPhone Pro line.
The 20th anniversary iPhone is not a separate model, but a redesign for the Pro line, report says
The iPhone lineup has changed a lot recently. Last year the iPhone Air replaced the iPhone Plus, and this time the first iPhone Ultra is arriving.
Rumors have long indicated that Apple is also preparing a special model for 2027, coinciding with the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.
It is expected to have a quad-curved display that looks bezel-free. And it may only have a small camera cutout, although some rumors state that Apple aims to remove all glass cutouts altogether.
Originally reported by Mark Gurman bloomberg That it will be a special ‘Pro’ model. But recently, Gurman and other reports have made it seem like a different model altogether.
However, a new report from analyst Jeff Pu noted 9to5Mac indicates that this 20th anniversary design is actually for Apple’s Pro line. From the report:
We expect the 20th iPhone launch of 2H27 to shift the innovation focus to the mainstream iPhone Pro+Max models, which include a 4-edge round display along with ongoing design efforts on under-display cameras on the front.
it’s lined up bloombergin which Gurman referenced a “bold new Pro model that makes more extensive use of Glass.”
If Pu is correct, Apple is not planning any special 20th anniversary iPhone models. Instead, it has a special, all-new design coming to the 2027 iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.
