A former FBI profiler has revealed the real reason behind the kidnapping of American TV anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy.
talking to newsnationJim Clemente speculates that revenge may have been the motive behind Nancy’s alleged kidnapping on February 1.
They believe the kidnapper may have been someone who became “obsessed” with Savannah because of seeing her Today Show or after any “conversation”.
Jim Clemente says, “It could also just be an illusion in her mind and she might have built up anger and resentment against him,” he said. “And as a result, he felt justified in resorting to hurting the mother.”
When the reporter asked, “You think this was a man who had some kind of obsession with Savannah, who probably watched her on TV every morning?”, to which she replied, “I think that’s most likely.”
Jim added, “We might be able to catch him” if someone finally “identified” the guy who “always talked about him.”
Earlier, in an interview with Hoda Kotb last month, Today Host Savannah said that her mother Nancy may be missing due to her celebrity status.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, which is leading the investigation, said, “Anyone with information related to the Nancy Guthrie case is encouraged to come forward.”
