A few seasons ago, if you’d asked me to name the summer colors that mattered most, purple wouldn’t have even come to mind. And yet, here we are in 2026, this long-forgotten shade is emerging as one of this season’s most compelling trends.
Strolling through the spring/summer 2026 runways, designers leaned into the eye-catching, saturated purple hue with new confidence. Now, as the season unfolds, the unassuming shade is already taking over the wardrobes of some of the most stylish dressers.
Before the rest, I spotted Amal Clooney this week giving a new twist to the growing color trend. Wearing a two-tier Balenciaga minidress fresh off the runway, she balanced the boldness of the color with gleaming gold heels and a coordinating clutch.
