¹ The Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called Passover, was approaching. ² The chief priests and experts in the law were trying to find a way to put Jesus to death because they were afraid of the people. ³ Then Satan entered Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve. ⁴ He went and talked to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guards about how he could betray Jesus to them. ⁵ They were happy and agreed to give him money. ⁶ He had promised to do so and was looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus to them, away from the crowd.

⁷ The day of unleavened bread arrived, when it was necessary to sacrifice the Passover lamb. ⁸ Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go, prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”

⁹ They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”

¹⁰ He said to them, “As soon as you enter the city, you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him into the house he enters. ¹¹ Tell the master of the house, the Master says to you, Where is the guest room, where I can eat the Passover with my disciples?’ ¹² He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Prepare there.” ¹³ They went and found just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
