A latest development has come to light related to the kidnapping case of 84-year-old mother Nancy Guthrie. Today The show’s co-host Savannah Guthrie, who disappeared from her Arizona home on February 1.
Law enforcement officials are currently following multiple leads in their search for Nancy. During the investigation, the FBI released hair-raising videos. The first one showed footage of an armed, masked man at his home.
The second video also shows a masked man who was seen stealing plants a short distance from Guthrie’s home. According to Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, the man seen in the second video is not related to the Nancy kidnapping case.
This important statement was made during the May 1, 2026 broadcast on Tucson’s KVOA. Despite local speculation, anchor Andrew Capasso confirmed that the man caught “stealing plants” near Guthrie’s home was not connected to the disappearance.
The broadcast also featured an interview with the local sheriff, who confirmed that the theft of the plant appeared to be an isolated incident.
During the investigation, authorities also recovered physical evidence, including blood, DNA, hair evidence on her porch, and data from Nancy’s Apple watch. Despite all this evidence, the case has remained unsolved for months.
In contrast, criminal justice experts believed that door-to-door video and physical evidence could lead to a breakthrough in the case.
“When you get the video, it opens up a lot of new avenues and details,” said former Milwaukee police detective Eric Dreger.
But, the matter is still going on shrouded in mystery. Police have still not been able to reveal Nancy’s condition and the motive behind her kidnapping. The FBI and the Guthrie family also announced a reward of more than $1.2 million for information related to Nancy.
