Mohammed Kumail Shaikh, a 26-year-old Indian student, died of cardiac arrest a day after celebrating his graduation march from Golden Gate University in California. His friends started a fundraiser to help send his body back to India for his last rites.“Our dear friend Mohammed Kumail Sheikh, who was only 26 years old, passed away unexpectedly this morning of a heart attack in his sleep. Yesterday, he celebrated one of the biggest moments of his life – graduating from Golden Gate University. None of us thought this would be our last day with him,” Ravi Teja Nannapaneni, organizer of the fundraiser, wrote for the fundraiser.“Mohammed came to America with big dreams and worked incredibly hard for his future and that of his family in India. He was kind, polite, caring and always there for his friends. His sudden demise has left everyone who knew him completely heartbroken.”It added, “We are now trying to raise funds to help send her body back to India so that her family can see her for the last time and perform her last rites. The family is from a lower-middle-class background, and this support will also help ease the burden of her educational loans and unexpected expenses during this heartbreaking time.”According to reports, Shaikh is a resident of Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, India.
