Disney Cruise Line has canceled scheduled sailings on its newest ship, Disney Adventure, after a mechanical issue forced passengers to leave the ship early in Singapore.
Passengers who boarded the ship on May 7 for a four-day voyage were asked to disembark after only one night on board due to an engine-related problem.
In a statement to guests, Disney said: “We deeply regret that we are unable to continue your Disney Adventure experience from May 7-11, 2026.”
The company did not provide further details about the mechanical failure, but confirmed that passengers would receive a full refund, an overnight hotel stay in Singapore, $500 for additional expenses, and a $500 future cruise credit.
“The safety and comfort of our guests is always our top priority,” Disney said.
Disney Adventure, which began operations earlier this year, is part of Disney’s broader plan to expand its cruise business and nearly double its fleet by 2031.
According to local media reports, passengers began hearing rumors about a possible cancellation shortly after boarding, while engineers attempted to resolve the problem.
One passenger posted on Reddit describing the growing frustration on the ship, writing: “It’s been almost 9 hours now and we still don’t have our letter.”
