Meta’s Ray-Bans are really sleek and stylish, and designed for people who already wear glasses, with strong prescription lens support and the option of shaded or transition lenses.

We reviewed both generations, and cite the camera improvements in the second-gen as the primary differentiating factor – which supports 3K resolution (as opposed to the first’s 1080p+).

Additionally, the second generation has a major improvement in battery life, up to eight hours per charge or up to 48 hours with the case. The first generation is about half that: four hours per charge.

There are a few different designs here, with the Wayfarer/Skyliner/Headliner glasses featuring tapered designs, adjustable and interchangeable nose pieces and adjustable temple tips.

So why would you prefer the first generation glasses over the newer models? In short: They’re more affordable. In terms of feature set, the two are largely similar, with most of the Meta’s AI-powered features coming to the first-generation model in the months following its release.
