The dramatic incident occurred during Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings when the last ball of the sixth over was bowled by young fast bowler Rasikh Salam. The Australian all-rounder, batting with Angrish Raghuvanshi, cut the slow ball towards point for a single.
As the players were changing positions, Kohli and RCB wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma were walking towards their places. Green was standing near the striker end. Suddenly Kohli and Green came very close to each other and what happened next shocked the fans.

Before they collided with each other, the former Indian captain was seen forcefully pushing Green with both his hands as he passed by him. After this Kohli looked back and was seen saying something while moving forward.

This incident might have been on Green’s mind as he failed to play big innings for KKR. In the 13th over, Rasikh Salam clean bowled the Australian batsman. Salam bowled the ball on a good length around the middle stump and the ball remained low after pitching on the ground.

It was a cross-seam ball, which made it difficult to predict. Green tried to hit a big shot across the line, but he missed the ball completely. The delivery went straight into the stumps and broke the middle stump and the KKR batsman returned to the dugout after scoring 32 runs in 24 balls.

Earlier on Wednesday in the IPL 2026 clash, Virat Kohli played a remarkable inning of 105 runs with the help of 11 fours and three sixes in just 60 balls as Royal Challengers Bangalore easily achieved the target of 193 runs set by Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur.
Karthik Tyagi took three wickets for Kolkata. Earlier, KKR scored 192/4 against RCB in the IPL 2026 match thanks to Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s inning of 71 runs in 46 balls and Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 49 runs.
