Hollywood star John Travolta looked dapper in a cream hat, round glasses, sharp beard and a black suit for the premiere of his directorial debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
The American screen legend received an honorary Palme d’Or award at the festival on Friday, ahead of the premiere of his directorial debut “Propeller One-Way Night Coach.”
“It’s really beyond the Oscars,” said Travolta, who has been nominated twice for the prestigious award.
Hundreds of people took to social media to express their surprise at how a 72-year-old man could look so young.
While some people were surprised by his looks, others wondered if the ‘Pulp Fiction’ actor has undergone plastic surgery.
Commenting on a video featuring Travolta in Cannes, an X user joked, “I need her plastic surgeon’s phone number.”
Another user couldn’t believe that the actor is 72 years old and wondered if he was actually 72 and whether the surgery was the reason he looked so young.
“Is he really 72 years old, if so is it a case of surgery that has helped him look so good?” asked the user.
Many other users have speculated about cosmetic procedures like fillers or a facelift over the years but John Travolta has never publicly confirmed any surgery.
However, some fans believed that good grooming and styling clearly played a big role in Travolta’s latest appearance.
Travolta has been one of Hollywood’s most enduring stars, making waves in the late 1970s with his disco drama “Saturday Night Fever” and the Stephen King prom-night horror film “Carrie.”
After a slump, the actor revived his career at Cannes in 1994 with Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic “Pulp Fiction,” and solidified his Hollywood star status with films including “Get Shorty,” “Face/Off” and “Hairspray.”
“It’s been a wonderful life, because I’ve been blessed with the beautiful arts of theatre, film, singing, dancing and acting, and I’ve also been blessed with the art of the sky.”
The film, which premiered in the festival’s Cannes Premiere section, will be released on Apple TV on May 29.
