Barbra Streisand has sparked health concerns among fans.
Following her vulnerable appearance in a pre-recorded video message shown during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, insiders claimed she “looked reflective and emotional in her video address,” according to Radar Online.
The source added, “But people around her are concerned because she appeared exhausted and deeply affected when talking about the struggles she’s faced in Hollywood. It felt less like a victory lap and more like confronting the toll it’s taken on her career, and it seemed like she basically filmed this video from her sick bed.”
At the 2026 Cannes, the renowned singer, actress and filmmaker was awarded the Honorary Palme d’Or during the festival, but she could not attend the ceremony in person due to a knee injury.
However, Streisand addressed the audience from a distance after doctors advised her not to travel to Cannes, France.
The source told the outlet, “Barbara has never hidden how painful this kind of fight was for her. Hearing her speak from home instead of standing on that stage in Cannes made it feel all the more poignant. There’s a real concern about how isolated she’s become during her recovery.”
In the video message, Barbra Streisand reflected on global instability, saying, “In this crazy, unstable world that is becoming more fragmented every day, it is reassuring to see compelling films by artists from so many countries at this festival.”
