Vaibhav Suryavanshi wreaked havoc at the New PCA Stadium as he completely destroyed SRH’s fast bowlers, hitting 12 sixes in his 97-run innings which put Chris Gayle’s record of second highest score in IPL history under threat.

Rajasthan Royals started their innings with a record-breaking inning of Suryavanshi. With the start, Royals crossed the 200-run mark in no time and were threatening the record set by RCB in the IPL playoffs in Dharamshala.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi misses Chris Gayle’s century record after record achievement against SRH
Vaibhav is currently playing his second season in the IPL and at the age of 15 he has broken the record of great batsman Chris Gayle. After breaking the former RCB batsman’s record of hitting sixes, he now has 65 sixes in an IPL season and has gone well ahead of the great Chris Gayle’s former record of 59.
Suryavanshi continued the attack inside the powerplay, completing her half-century in just 16 balls. He then threatened Gayle’s record of a century in 30 balls before being dismissed for 97 runs off just 29 balls. He missed Gayle’s century and second record.
The 15-year-old player is already second and third in the list of fastest centuries in the history of IPL. He has scored two IPL centuries, one off just 35 balls and the other off just 36 balls, which came this season.
Suryavanshi equals Chris Gayle’s record of hitting sixes in IPL
Suryavanshi has made a tremendous record of hitting sixes in the IPL. Chris Gayle holds another previous record where he had hit ten or more sixes in a single innings a record four times.
Vaibhav, whose six-hit haul sets him on a different level, has equaled the record previously held by Gayle. He has also hit more than 10 sixes in an IPL innings four times, three of which came in this season of the IPL.
Suryavanshi first played such an innings in 2025 against Gujarat Titans when he scored his first IPL century.
Fans went crazy after Vaibhav’s inning of 97 runs.
