Call of Duty is heading to the Korean Peninsula. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026, bringing the franchise into darker and more dangerous territory with geopolitical conflict threatening global stability.
The new entry is available on Xbox Series
In the game Modern Warfare 4, players step into the shoes of Private Park, a young and inexperienced South Korean soldier thrown straight into the mix during a full-scale invasion by North Korea. The battle continues for Park and his small unit, as cities collapse and counter-attacks continue.
The campaign takes place in many different areas, from trench warfare in Korea to close-quarter combat in New York, intense car chases through Paris, covert SAS missions in Mumbai and all-out assaults to recapture enemy-controlled areas.
Following the exploits of Private Park, the campaign follows the exploits of Captain Price, now an outlaw operator seeking revenge for past wrongs. In search of a weapon that could tilt the balance of power in the world, Captain Price’s quest becomes entangled with events in Korea.
For the multiplayer aspects of Modern Warfare 4, “Ballistic Authority” has been introduced, a weapons-first technology stack that integrates precision, physics, audio, visibility, and perception. With the implementation of Ballistic Authority, bloom is completely eliminated, and hipfire shots are direct and reliable.
Recoil and weapon management have been reworked to more faithfully reflect player input. Improved depth of field increases enemy visibility without compromising authenticity. The weapons react naturally to player movements, stance changes, and environmental factors.
Multiplayer launches with 12 main maps across global locations, as well as dedicated gunfight maps and larger battle scenarios. Kill Block, a training feature with 500+ possible configurations that reconfigure between rounds, offering dynamic environments that force real-time tactical adaptations.
The redesigned Create-a-Class system integrates operators, weapons, equipment, and killstreaks into a single loadout for faster customization.
