As AI tries to make its way into Hollywood, there is resistance within the industry.
Emily Blunt is an example.
In her upcoming film Disclosure Day, the actress’ character was supposed to talk in a non-human manner.
As he explained on Hot Ones, there is a four-minute sequence where a mysterious language had to be used.
“It’s four minutes that we shot that lead up to that moment where she’s slowly disintegrating.”
Faced with such a situation, Blunt said that there were several ways to perform the scene.
“There are a lot of ways you can do it,” she said, before sharing an AI method that scared her somewhat.
“You could go the AI route, which I’m a little intimidated by.”
Therefore, Blunt opted to record organically, abandoning the AI route.
“I thought I could make some very strange sounds,” the actress shared.
“I said maybe I could come in and we’d make all kinds of weird sounds. And that’s what we did.”
“I made all kinds of clicking sounds, I made all kinds of humming sounds, consonant sounds, weird breathing sounds.”
Then, the sound designer, Blunt said, composed the music with his own eerie voice recordings.
“The sound designer went and made that weird sound.”
Revelations hits theaters on Day One, June 12.
