Paula Abdul has reacted to learning that Meghan Markle used her song to pay anniversary tribute to Prince Harry.
In an interview with People Magazine, the singer admitted she still has “tears” over the resurgence of love surrounding her track Forever Your Girl.
Paula said, “I always say I never take anything for granted in my career, and the amount of time it stings and brings tears to my eyes is still present every day.”
Adding, “And it started with the movie People We Meet on Vacation and then everyone started TikToking.”
On May 19, Meghan Markle celebrated eight years of marriage with Prince Harry in a touching post. Sharing never-before-seen photos from the couple’s wedding, the Duchess of Sussex added Paula Abdul’s track as the background.
“I pinched myself and said, ‘This is amazing.’ Well, like I said, you never know. May little gems and moments come and bless your life,” Paula said of Meghan in her post using Forever Your Girl.
It’s worth mentioning that the singer had previously reposted Meghan on her Instagram, writing, “So lovely to hear ‘Forever Your Girl’ with these beautiful memories.”
He said of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, “Wishing you both a very happy anniversary of love, laughter and love! XOP.”
