So it appears that in 2018 the maximum production of gasoline for the year was 111,901 thousand barrels. Then of course came Covid which massively destroyed demand in 2020 to the tune of 96,606 thousand barrels for the year. It has not recovered since, total production in 2025 was 106,857
thousand barrels.
Exports of finished motor fuel peaked around 2018, but have been increasing.
So the petro dollar is in serious decline, it appears that this is probably due to countries buying gas in currencies other than the dollar. Motor fuel needs have declined by 4.5% since 2018.
