Former India captain Kris Srikkanth has accused Kolkata Knight Riders star Australian all-rounder Cameron Green of being selfish during his team’s defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore in Raipur on Thursday.
Green was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders at a huge price in the IPL auction. 25.20 crores. That price tag made Green the most expensive foreign player in IPL history. After not winning any of their first six matches, KKR made a slight resurgence by winning four consecutive matches. That was until they met RCB in Raipur.
KKR’s four-match winning streak stopped
Finn Allen’s explosiveness was reduced by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in a cameo. Ajinkya Rahane failed to leave a mark on the game, but Cameron Green was present at the crease. Green scored just 32 runs in 24 balls and it looked like KKR had stalled in the mid-stage. Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 71 runs while Rinku Singh scored unbeaten 49 runs, taking KKR to 193 runs.
RCB welcomed the challenge. Jacob Bethel once again failed to make an impact, but Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal stitched a 92-run partnership after a dropped catch. After this, Kohli made it easier for RCB to chase the target by scoring his ninth IPL century and took RCB to the top of the points table.
He is batting only for himself – Kris Srikkanth on Cameron Green
After the match, Srikkanth criticized Cameron Green for his poor batting on his YouTube channel. Srikkanth said that Green now bats only for himself instead of trying to win matches for the team.
“(Angkrish) Raghuvanshi played very well, but their problem is people like (Ajinkya) Rahane. Cameron Green ate a lot of balls. He has become a guy who just bats for himself. He was 14 off his first 15 balls. When Raghuvanshi has given you such a good start, you don’t support like that. It is Green who has pulled him down,” he said.
“Otherwise, KKR would have reached 210. They lost the match between the fifth and 10th overs. Green did not play for the team. He played selfishly. Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh worked hard again in the end after Green got out. But there too, the 18th over went for seven runs. This is where Rinku should have burst as well.”

Cameron Green’s form in IPL 2026
Despite being paid over three million dollars, Cameron Green has had the best returns in IPL 2026. Green has scored only 264 runs in 11 matches at an average of 33 and strike rate of 145. He has also scored a half-century with the highest score of 79.
There was a lot of drama in the early days of the tournament regarding Green’s fitness and bowling ability. But the waters seem to have receded as Green has now bowled 14 overs in 11 matches. Currently, he has 4 wickets at an average of 41.25 and an economy rate of around 11.28 runs per over.
