Anne Hathaway knows that balancing career and personal life as a mother of two is almost impossible.
The ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ stars recently sat down with Harper’s Bazaar And opened up about balancing motherhood and her acting career, saying she felt “very defeated” in that area.
The 43-year-old actress, who is mom to sons Jack and Jonathan, told the publisher that her focus before becoming a mother was “unconcerned and uninterrupted,” but post-kids things tend to be a little more up-and-down.
“Before, this focus was really uncompromising and seamless,” he shared.
Hathaway continued, “And I can’t tell you anymore what life is like without kids, but kids interrupt you all the time.”
He added, “My friends and I talk about it a lot, and we actually feel very defeated by the concept of balance.
“If the weight is shifted in one direction, you have to bounce it to the other side, and we find that it rotates us as opposed to stabilizing us.”
Hathaway shared, so instead of finding balance, she and her friends have embraced the concept of forgiveness.
“We’re like, ‘We want to have harmony in our lives,'” he said.
