Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has made the fastest chase of more than 200 runs in IPL. They achieved the target of 202 runs set by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 15.4 overs in Bengaluru 2026.
RCB has also made the record of achieving the fastest target of more than 200 in an overseas match in IPL. It took them 16 overs to chase the target of 201 runs. Against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad in 2024.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) were the first team to chase more than 200 in the league. He successfully chased 215 with one ball remaining against Deccan Chargers in 2008.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) have set the record for the most successful run chase in IPL, achieving the target of 262 runs in 18.4 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2024. This is the only 250-plus run chase in the league.
PBKS’s target of 262 runs is the highest score by a team in a men’s T20 match. The Punjab team achieved a run rate of 14.03, which is the highest by any team in an IPL innings.
PBKS and Mumbai Indians (MI) have successfully chased 200 or more runs in five or more IPL matches.
RCB and MI have chased more than 200 runs in 18 or less overs in the IPL. They also top the list of teams that have successfully chased most scores of 200+ in the tournament.
PBKS set the record for the fastest 200-plus chase in an IPL playoff match by achieving the target of 204 runs against MI in the 2025 Qualifier 2.
Meanwhile, KKR has set the record for the fastest chase of 200-plus runs in an IPL final. It took them 19.3 overs to reach the target of 200 against PBKS in the 2014 final.
On the basis of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s inning of 101 runs in 38 balls, RR achieved the target of 210 runs against GT in 2025. This made him the youngest IPL century at the age of 14 years and 32 days.
Suryavanshi took 35 balls to complete his maiden IPL century, which is the second fastest century by any batsman in the league.
GT is the only team in IPL to chase the target of more than 200 runs without losing a wicket. They crossed the 200-run target (205/0) against Delhi Capitals in 2025.
Sai Sudarshan (108*) and Shubman Gill (93*) made an unbeaten 205-run partnership, which is the highest opening partnership in IPL.
