TL;DR
- Samsung is bringing One UI 8.5 beta to its three-year-old budget phones.
- After the Galaxy A55, the beta is now open for the Galaxy A54.
- Currently, we are seeing reports for the rollout in India only.
After extending One UI 8.5 beta to the Galaxy A55 earlier this week, Samsung is also including its predecessor in the program. Tipster Tarun Vats noted in a recent post on x One UI 8.5 beta build is now available for Galaxy A54 in India. Notably, the rollout for the Galaxy A56 and A55 is limited to Korea and India so far, and we’re still expecting Samsung to include other regions as well, including the US, UK, and Germany, where One UI 8.5 beta has been rolled out for premium devices.

There is no update on the availability of the beta for its companion, the Galaxy A34. However, we hope this will be implemented soon, as Samsung has already brought the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A35 under its hood.
The beta is already available for most eligible flagships, including the three-year-old Galaxy S23 series, among other devices. At this point, it seems like Samsung is just flexing its muscles.
If you have a Galaxy A54, you can request to join the One UI 8.5 beta. Go to the Samsung Members app on your phone and look for a banner at the top. In case there is no banner at the top, scroll to the bottom of the app where you will find a section dedicated to beta updates. Tap on it and then register with your Samsung account.
Once your request is approved, you will receive the beta just like regular updates on your Galaxy smartphone. Since Samsung offers a limited number of spots for beta tests, act fast to secure yours.
