D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is believed to have used a “sharp instrument” when he murdered 14-year-old girl Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
For those unaware, the 21-year-old American singer and songwriter is accused of murdering Celeste and keeping her body in the trunk of her Tesla for months after her mother reported her missing in 2024. According to her mother’s complaint, her daughter had gone on a movie date with her boyfriend David and never returned.
In a press release dated Monday, April 20, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman revealed that D4vd, who has been charged with first-degree murder, was expected to be arraigned on the charges on Monday afternoon.
“The criminal complaint also includes special circumstance allegations of murder of a witness, murder for financial gain and lying in wait as well as a special allegation that Burke personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon, a sharp instrument, to commit the crime,” he shared.
According to Hochman, D4vd murdered Celeste on April 23, 2025, then he dismembered her and put her body parts in two bags before hiding them in the trunk of his vehicle. The remains remained in his car for four months.
It is worth mentioning that Hochman said that he allegedly engaged in “repeated and promiscuous sexual relations” with Celeste and that he murdered her to protect himself from illicit sex, which would have destroyed his music career.
