British journalist Piers Morgan on Tuesday paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on her 100th birthday.
Morgan shared a photo with the late queen on Instagram and wrote, “The late, great Queen Elizabeth II turned 100 today. I miss her. What an amazingly calm, wise and resilient rock of stability she was for Britain through so many turbulent times.”
Britain’s longest-reigning and longest-lived Queen Elizabeth was born on April 21, 1926, and spent 70 years on the throne before her death in September 2022 at the age of 96.
Elizabeth was not expected to become queen at the time of her birth, but when her uncle Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson, her father became King George VI when she was 10. After this, she herself became queen in 1952 at the age of just 25.
