listening to father’s heart
Son, be careful that you do not despise your birthright in me. Do you remember my son Esau? I had great plans for him. However, he decided that his worldly passions were more valuable than the destiny I had planned for him. I could have made him a great nation, but within moments he decided that his birthright had no value and he sold it to his brother for a few scraps of food. My heart hurts for him. After making this choice he never achieved my purpose in life. Many of my children follow the path of Esau. They choose lifestyle, money or relationships that interfere with their ultimate destiny with Me. You chose well, my son. I want you to keep choosing me above everything else.
…Lest there be any adulterer or impure man like Esau, who sold his birthright for a morsel of food. Hebrews 12:16
Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will search for me diligently, but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not want to fear the Lord, they did not listen to my advice and despised all my rebuke. Proverbs 1:28-30
