King Charles and Queen Camilla have been told they can’t get Donald Trump to be on his best behavior.
Their Majesty and the Queen, who are visiting the White House this week, said in a pointed comment that they could not tame an orange baby.
Writing for the Mirror, Kevin Maguire writes: “Sending a pair of elderly Britons, Charlie and Camilla, to woo the orange maniac Donald Trump makes even a seasoned Republican like my good self uneasy.”
He added, “My objection is that by rewarding child abuse for bad behavior Trump will only embolden a bullying enemy who has declared economic war on Britain, threatened our security, contemptuously dismissed soldiers killed in Afghanistan and gifted the Falklands to Argentina.”
The expert notes: “Trump may be on his best behavior during this week’s royal visit, but it will have as deep and lasting an impact as his unprecedented second state visit to Windsor last September. Which is exactly zero, zero, so far.”
