Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin spoke for more than 90 minutes on Wednesday, focusing on Iran, Ukraine and economic and energy cooperation, according to the Kremlin, which described the conversation as “frank” and “friendly.”
According to Russian officials, Putin expressed concern over the recent assassination attempt on Trump, where he was not injured.
On Iran, the Russian leader shared views with his counterpart on the Iranian nuclear program – a major stumbling block in US-Iran talks.
According to the Kremlin, Putin also supported Trump’s announcement to extend the ceasefire, which is reportedly under strain due to strong disagreements.
