Royal Challengers Bangalore have struggled with the bat in the power play for the second time this season of the competition. They have not lost two or more wickets in the first ten overs in most of their matches, and the only time they saw untimely wickets was when they faced Rajasthan Royals at the start of the season.
However, against the GT bowlers in Ahmedabad, they struggled despite a great start by their batsmen. Players like Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Tim David were out within no time after getting good starts.
Virat Kohli started the game with some dominance against experienced fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and extended his dominance over the GT bowlers from the previous game. However, Rabada also defended himself and dismissed the Indian legend in the very next over.
Brilliant catch by Jason Holder to dismiss the RCB captain
Jason Holder picked up one of the greatest catches in this season of the IPL as he sat nicely under a ball that was heading sky high and headed towards one of those empty pockets in the field.
As Rajat Patidar tried to play a lofted glance shot in his first over after hitting a six off Arshad Khan’s first ball, the ball went high into the night sky, giving Jason Holder the opportunity to run through square leg and settle well under the ball.
Holder was in complete control as he settled under the ball and completely covered the ball with his big fingers while he was in the air before scraping the surface of the ball on the ground in an attempt to get back to his feet.

Virat Kohli and the RCB camp got angry at the umpires after the controversial dismissal of Rajat Patidar.
After completing the catch, Jason Holder slipped the ball on the ground, but the umpires declared Rajat Patidar out and the RCB team, including veteran cricketer Virat Kohli, did not seem impressed with the decision.
While they were all on their feet in protest of being out, the umpires considered that Holder’s fingers were under the ball and that he had also completed the catch and kept it in the air for a long time before sliding onto the ground.
Along with head coach Andy Flower, who was visibly agitated, Virat Kohli also lost his cool while trying to explain his point to the fourth umpire on the sidelines of the game. This could cost RCB their fair play points, while the experienced cricketer is also at some risk for his conduct.
Jason ‘Superman’ Holder stood firm on every ball in this match
Jason Holder has been seen almost everywhere on the field for Gujarat Titans. The Barbados big man has been in every catching position and contributed to all four wickets that fell within those 20 balls.
Be it with the ball or on the field, Holder has given his best performance. He sticks to the ball everywhere on the field. His second catch of the game was a sharp catch to dismiss Tim David. He took full advantage of his height and caught the ball off the bowling of Rashid Khan.
He then took another easy catch to dismiss Krunal Pandya, which was the sixth wicket of the Challengers. After Patidar’s catch, Holder was put into the attack by Shubman Gill for his second spell and he dismissed the out-of-form Jitesh Sharma on the very first ball.
