Another baby has been born mid-flight after a mother went into labor two months early and gave birth at an altitude of 33,000 feet.
An ITA Airways flight to Italy suddenly turned into a delivery room when a woman went into labor in the air.
The cabin crew were alerted to the situation just an hour after takeoff from Dakar, Senegal.
An improvised delivery room was set up in the gallery and in front of the exit door.
Two passengers, a doctor and a nurse, volunteered to help the woman who was just seven months pregnant.
Passenger Sandro Pisu, 58, told outlet Il Messaggero: “I was sleeping, but when they asked if a doctor was available, I immediately thought someone had fallen ill.

“It was all very confusing; the news came in bits and pieces. We couldn’t believe that a woman had given birth.”
The birth took just an hour, amid cheers from the rest of the cabin.

The aircraft returned to Blaise Diagne Airport in Dakar due to security reasons.
After landing, the mother and her newborn baby were taken to hospital for further care.
The plane then continued its flight to Italy.
“The baby is absolutely healthy and is the first baby born on board an aircraft in the history of ITA Airways,” the airline said in a statement.
This amazing phenomenon was the latest in a series of babies born above the clouds.
Earlier this month, a Caribbean Airlines flight from Jamaica to the US was forced to make a hard landing after a woman’s water bag broke in mid-air.
