At least nine people, including a four-year-old boy and his mother, have died after a tourist boat capsized in a fierce storm.
Six passengers are still missing after Thursday’s tragedy in India, where 28 people were rescued by emergency services.
It is understood that the boat capsized during a severe weather event at the Bargi Dam on the Narmada River in Jabalpur.
Rescue teams are continuing work this weekend after the ship capsized on Thursday evening.
After the sinking of the cruise ship, local authorities have dismissed the driver, assistant and ticket counter in-charge.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid his respects to the nine dead victims.
He also announced compensation for the families affected by the accident.
Indian PM said, ‘The death of people due to boat capsizing in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh is very sad.
“I express my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this tragic accident.
“I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The local administration is providing assistance to the affected people.”
The boat has been pulled out of the depths of the water, but no body was found inside.
Eyewitnesses said that strong winds had made the water extremely unstable at the time of the sinking.
Several people aboard the ship raised the alarm with the crew and urged those in charge to return to shore.
After this the boat washed away before capsizing.
Local people managed to save some passengers with the help of ropes.
