    Punjab Kings (PBKS) trolled Rajasthan Royals (RR) on social media platforms after they suffered a defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL season. Punjab used Salman Khan’s viral catchphrase to mock their rivals, taking revenge for the recent jibes made at them on social media this season.

    Delhi Capitals registered a seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, May 1. The Axar Patel-led team chased down the mammoth target of 226 runs in 19.1 overs. KL Rahul scored 75 runs and Pathum Nissanka added 62 runs to surpass Riyan Parag’s brilliant 90 runs in the match.

    Rajasthan Royals made fun of on social media in reference to Salman Khan

    The social media exchange began after Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings on April 28, ending Punjab’s strong position in IPL 2026. Rajasthan celebrated the win by using Salman Khan’s 2014 viral tweet, which originally questioned whether Preity Zinta’s team had won, turning it into a playful satire.

    Rajasthan Royals also shared a video presenting the Player of the Match award to Donovan Ferreira. In the clip, Ferreira looked at the camera and said, “Sorry brother, not today,” directly referencing the viral line and mocking the Punjab Kings after their unbeaten run in that match ended.

    The post quickly gained popularity on social media and fans reacted strongly to it. This sparked a mild rivalry between the two teams online, and Punjab Kings later reacted after Rajasthan’s loss to Delhi Capitals and used the same phrase to respond to the joke.

    Rajasthan Royals chose to bat but lost the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi early. Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel rebuilt the innings with a partnership of 109 runs in 59 balls. Parag scored 90 off 50, while Donovan Ferreira remained unbeaten on 47 off 14, taking the score to 225/6.

    KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka added 110 runs in 57 balls. Rahul scored 75 off 40, while Nissanka scored 62 off 33, his first IPL half-century. Nitish Rana added 33 runs in 17 balls. Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each. Rahul was chosen player of the match.
