Prince Harry will have bittersweet feelings about King Charles’s recent visit to America.
The Duke of Sussex, who was unable to meet his father during his brief visit to the US, will be overwhelmed by the honor bestowed upon Her Majesty.
Royal expert Jenny Bond told the Mirror: “I don’t think it would have been a surprise to Harry that he didn’t get a chance to see his father during the state visit. But in the country that is now Harry’s home, it must have been a surreal experience to see his father welcomed and yet not see him.
“Of course, in reality, they were still thousands of miles apart and they hadn’t even met when they were within a mile of each other in London. So it was never going to happen.”
“Their relationship is still strained and if they do meet again, I’m sure it won’t be on a public platform like this extraordinary high-profile trip,” Jenny said.
She said: “Harry is on record as saying that he believes his father and brothers are trapped in their royal existence. And, just last week, he said how important it is to have truth in power and to have the right to say what he believes. So he must have felt conflicted seeing the king in action.
