Man is considered to be made up of sixteen arts. Agni, Soma etc. are the eleven pranas. The number of diseases is eleven hundred and twenty (one thousand, one hundred and twenty) and the number of substances is five hundred and seventy three. All these have been detailed in this scripture (Sushruta Tantra/Samhita).
The three gunas i.e. Sattva, Rajas and Tamas are also explained in relation to (three) different doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha), which are generally said to be of sixty-two combinations. (9)

Individual defects (single defect deformity) i.e. the defects which are aggravated individually are three in number (here one defect is distorted and the other two are in their normal position).
The number of doshas that are aggravated in two doshas is nine (here out of three doshas, two doshas are aggravated, either equally or unequally but the third dosha is in its normal state).
The number of combinations will be thirteen if they are taken three at a time – they are all increased equally and unequally. Thus by combining all the above mentioned types, we will get a total of twenty-five types with aggravated defects.
In cases of reduction of defects with the same number of combinations (taken one, two or three at a time as explained in defect increase) we will have fifty combinations.
The number of combinations (taking one, two and three at a time) including aggravated and attenuated doshas will be twelve only (they become twelve as the doshas decrease, increase and decrease). In this way we get a total of sixty-two combinations.

When impurities combine with metals and impurities, a myriad of combinations are formed. Therefore, fault combinations can be considered relevant to the context.
Diseases are diagnosed and treated with Rasa Bheda i.e. medicines with different flavours, either separately or in combination.

Uttara Tantra is formed when these sixty-six chapters of the section are arranged in the proper order. This helps people with poor mental (comprehension) ability to understand hidden meanings clearly. This will also help in understanding a wider range of topics. The concepts are clearly and easily understood as they are documented in the form of answers given by Acharya Divodas to the questions put in proper order by Master Sushruta.

A person who studies the Sushruta Samhita text along with the Uttara Tantra section according to the procedure explained by Lord Brahma will definitely understand the true meaning of the text and will never hesitate in doing so. These words of Brahma ji are absolutely true.

In this way, the sixty-sixth chapter named Doshbhedavikalpa ends in the northern part of Sushruta Samhita.
In this way the answer part of Sushruta Samhita ends.
Thus ends Sushruta Samhita written by the great sage Sushruta, son of sage Vishwamitra and disciple of Kashiraj Divodas Dhanvantari.
